Academic year 2023 – 2024

We ran two groups in the academic year 2023-2024 on Thursdays at Woodbridge Cruising Club, a Beginners course and an Improvers. Following the European Frame of Languages levels, both lessons were at level A1, the second year being at the end of this level. The current year 2024-2025, there will be a complete beginner group running at 11.30am, and a more advanced group, with them we will study a new book “Nos Vemos Hoy 2”, which is level A2.

We will also continue with tuition online for adult students of all levels, as well offering tuition or support lessons for GCSE and A2 levels.

The courses for adults take the book “Nos Vemos Hoy 1” for beginners. Students that are advanced discuss current affairs and read novels. Last year student enjoyed a novel “Largo pétalo del mar” by Isabel Allende, a factual book “Cómo hacer que te pasen cosas buenas” by Marian Rojas Estapé, another novel “Los girasoles ciegos” by alberto Mendez, and other books.

In class, learning for beginners includes a fair amount of conversation, Power points to illustrate grammar and prompt exchange exercises.

Students use a course book to follow the topics and to complete homework. The book has a digital component with audios, grammar clips and videos.

We use the ECOS magazine with professional and interesting up to date information including audio, or current affairs with BBC news Mundo for advanced students.

We celebrated the end of each term by having lunch together in one of the nice restaurants in Woodbridge.
